I like the website for KrAZ trucks and I hope someday these trucks will be sold in the USA. Of course I would like to be your sales representative as that is my specialty. We could use some of the logging trucks as there is a lot of logging in this area, and we hope it will improve if we have a more business friendly President in 2017.

I arrived in Ukraine last Sunday and came to Kremenchug to meet two girls I was chatting with while in Los Angeles. It seems to be a nice enough and large city but not speaking the language is a definite hindrance. I would not believe the stories you hear about Ukrainian women looking for foreign men. I find the women to be just as indifferent to men and seems to be dressing more to impress each other than to attract and keep a man. Good luck though. I came from Dnepropetrovsk on the slow train - 176 km took five hours to cover - left at 6:50 p.m. and arrived at midnight. It appears as though from Kiev the distance is about the same. The Kremin Hotel and others are not expensive but no one seems to know where a laundry-mat is and the language barrier inadvertently made me pay 57.00 USd for a simple load of laundry, lol. Live and learn I guess. Oh yeah if you stay at the Kremin Hotel do get the free breakfast option. It is also very loud with kids (and drunks)hanging out nearby and people in general walking back and forth (talking loud and clicking high heels) to the beach bars. Local
buses are cheap (3 grivnas = about .30 cents) but it is difficult to know where many of them actually go other than eventually to some downtown central location.

Hi Alexander.
I could not agree with your reply more on Kremenchug's beauty. When I become pensioner in many years, I hope to retire there part of the year with my Lovely wife from Kremenchug, and the other part of the year here in USA. Living in modern city next to water is a requirement for me. To me, modern means high speed internet. Kremenchug had internet many years ago. Even today, not all of USA has this. I have many kind friend in Kremenchug now.

I am looking for information about cities in Ukraine. I am told kremunchug is a good one also Kharkov. Kiev is too big and I prefer a medium size city with relatively easy access to Moscow.
I am american on a
business visa but, after this visa expires russia has made it very difficult for a person with visa to live here.
a new law restricts me to 90 days out of any 180 day period. I am considering ukraine as an alternative.
any help would be very much appreciated.
Thanks

Mike, Irina is right on the name and website of the main companies that travel from Borispol to Krememchuk. But unlike what she said is not possible through the internet to book any bus ticket, you'll also find during the holiday season that reservations are complicate(if possible at all due to the fact that the bus is fully booked from origin and they are not prepared to take reservations for half the ticket.
Finding the offices of Autolux and Gunsel at Borispol is easy, as soon you pass the customs check point you will find a lot of taxi drivers offering you a very expensive ride. You just turn to your right, there is a couple of cash machines where you can get local currency at a better rate than in the other counters. You just turn right again and there is with an orange sign the counter for giunsel, try to remember that you are in ukraine and the name is written in cyrilic. Further ahead in the same corridor , you have the office for autolux(again written in cyrilic)
They do speak very basic english, and they will try to get a bribe in the form of an alleged reservation fee which I always pay because is still a lot cheaper than the taxi. The bus drivers , as soon as they see that you are foreigner will want their cut on the bribe and will ask also for a bagage fee that I also always pay as it is a matter of fact that every time that we travel to visit the family in Kremenchuk we bring loads of presents and I think that it is fair to pay that money. As a guide , the price of the ticket last time we travelled was 50 UAH pp, reservation fee 10UAh and the bagage was 30UAH. Still far of the 500UAH that was the best fare that we could get by taxi.
Taxis are more expensive in Kiev than in Kremenchuk, it has been always the case that booking them from kremenchuk make perfect sense but remember to negociate always the price as life in ukraine is hard and money in short supply and they try their best to make the most of any customer. If you have problems finding Gunsel or Autolux outlets in Borispol you can ask the taxi drivers and they will be happy to help you with no problem as people in ukraine are very polite. If you want any more specific information about the town , do not hesitate to ask as I am married to a girl over there and we do travel there quite often.Enjoy your trip!

Hi Mike,
I found out a couple of
bus lines going from Kiew-Borispol Airport directly to Kremenchug.
Here are the links:
http://www.gunsel.com.ua
http://www.autolux.ua
They are both good and you can make a reservation also through the internet.
Enjoy.

Hey Mike,
Ref. your query regarding renting a car in Kremenchuk, Bob's statement from England is valid (message 6736), same as Dzivi Lafiov suggestion (message 6738), or perhaps you may consider this one too:
I went to Kremenchuk on 2002 and I choose the
bus from Kiev to Kremenchuk (4 hrs. trip + snacks + drinks + movies on board + one mid trip stop for stretching out). Stayed in Kremenchuk for about two and a bit weeks and used cabs all the time (very cheap) Just get a good cab driver
business card from the telephone directory, get his name and number and stick to it, negotiate a full time discount with him if possible and you should be OK. This way you won’t have worries driving late at night after restaurant, night club, etc. (24 hrs. good services and very safe). Just make sure you get a traveler’s insurance for everything else if you whish so. Have a good trip and enjoy your stay in Kremenchuk, a very exciting, warm and beautiful city from Poltava Region in Ukraine.
Priviet vciem v Kremenchugie! Ia tivia ne zabudu!
Best regards,
Robert. (Flight College KLUGA 1987 graduation)

Mike,
Not sure about the license. It's easy enough to get a IDP International Driving Permit in u.s.a. for about 12 bucks at AAA. I think Ukraine is on the list. The IDP + your stateside DL is valid in numerous countries. Personally, I'd take train or
bus from Kyiv and BUY a car in Kremenchuk. (That is my plan on my next trip very soon). I'd bet you could score a very cool used Lavda for similar cost to renting. If you've not driven in Ukraine, think twice about it first. It is NOT EVEN CLOSE to how driving is in u.s.a., or western Europe - its much nicer IMHO. If you've not been to Ukraine you may wish to "not drive" there, at least for your first trip; just to get the feel of things. If you rent in Kyiv & drive to Kremenchuk, it's about 4 to 5 hr drive on unimproved pavement. If you don't at least know Cyrillic alphabet well, visit Mask restaurant in Lenin Str - excellent food & menus are also printed in english. Lenin Str also has internet café and phones if you need those. Have fun.

Dear Roberto,
Thank you for the reply. I see your point of view and I first claim we are all children under God, which says it all. Tolerance should always be extended in any social atmosphere. We do have an immigration problem in America and it is reported everyday and argued in our Congress. The chaos I speak of is more than likely due to failure to have a legal immigration system that works, such as a true immigrant worker program. This would solve many conflicts case closed. I criticize no man or woman for wanting a better life. All I know is that the Country needs to be more unified or it will falter.
On the issue of Mexicans well my Aunt is from Mexico and married into our family and we love her as she should be loved and she would tell you so and my little cousins, case closed. Also, remember I live in Florida so if you think I haven’t dated many girls from Cuban decent well that would be wrong, case closed. And I have rarely dated a girl I wouldn’t marry, so that says enough in itself.
My issue is way to much conflict between cultures in our country and it needs to be addressed. We need to stand as Americans or we will fall. Fair wages for immigrants should also be a top priority. If you combine bad immigration laws with social economic resentment you have have the makings for chaos and to deny the criminal aspect happening in our streets is just flat out wrong. Pay people a fair wage and things always calm down, but big
business doesn’t want that, which is the root problem.
Roberto maybe I will see you some time down in Florida, if you like salt water fishing I may someday. On Ukraine culture I have studied much about it (Mainly Cossack element). I look forward to traveling to Kremenchuk, hopefully I will find receptive peoples, and I believe I will if I extend a kind hand first.
Sincerely you’re Florida Neighbor,
STEVE SHIFLETT

I love this site! The City of Kremenchuk is like the many northern United States towns before crime and Drugs destroyed our Factory towns, in the past 25 years. Our Industrial cities are ghost towns (everything went to china) and it is very sad looking and dirty and shut down. Kremenchuk has life and beauty and a Young lady I been writting. I may live there for 6 months out of the year one day or maybe all the time. I love your city!!! My Town is the Capital of Florida and a State Goverment town, it is very nice but I like the people of your city better. We are being over run by illegal immigrants from Mexico and Cuba they are causing caos. United States has 2 million people in prison right now. I bet if more doors were open to Amercian
business people like John Deere tractor many good
business people would move there with lots of money?? You might need to build a golf course though, ha, ha just kidding, not a bad idea on the other hand???
